Rowan Ellis is one of YouTube's UK Ambassadors, acting as a link between the community and the company, and delivering training on best practice.
Rowan makes videos on YouTube about LGBTQ+ issues, feminist advocacy, and pop culture - this has spilled out into “IRL” talks, panels, and workshops across Europe and America. Her works has been covered in publications including Forbes, The Guardian, Teen Vogue, Elle UK, and BBC.
Currently working as the Social Media Manager for the online women’s magazine The Pool, she uses her personal and professional platforms to open conversations and help build communities.
Rowan can be found in the kitchen, not making you a sandwich.
Speaker & Workshop Facilitator
I run workshops, chair panels, and give talks on topics ranging from Pop Culture, to activism, and social media.
My work as an events speaker and workshop facilitator has taken me to events in the UK and abroad, including University campuses, Vidcon, Comic Cons, and the YouTube Space London.
On my YouTube channel I make videos empowering activism, exploring queer life, and critiquing Pop Culture from an intersectional feminist perspective.
My videos include topics such as Self Care for Activists, "Strong Female Characters" on screen, Witches in Pop Culture, an A-Z of LGBT Tropes, Feminism in Blockbusters, and much more.
